Why is Christening an 'amazing journey'?

A christening marks the start of a lifetime of discovery about the Christian faith and how life-changing that can be. It’s a journey of surprises, challenges and adventure. And through it all, God is always with us.

If you wish to consider arranging a Christening or Baptism for your child or for an adult, please get in touch with the Parish for advice.  The Church in Wales does not charge for this service.

At the service, the person to be baptised or christened will be baptised with water in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  Parents and Godparents will make promises to support and nurture the child as he/she grows in life and faith.  Prayers will then be offered for the newly the individual followed by the gift of a lighted candle to represent the light of Christ entering their lives.

Family and friends are warmly invited to join the church family in regular acts of worship.  Please see our weekly services page.

For enquiries about weddings, baptisms (christenings) and banns of marriage we run an open clergy surgery on Thursday evenings from 5.30pm-7pm at St David's Church, Woodfield Street, Morriston. No appointments are needed and everyone is welcome.
